The Evolving Exhibtion is almost over
Exhibit Me! is coming to a close and the exhibition will be open until 5pm on Saturday.

Here's a few shots from the last few weeks workshops:

PLASTER - Clay moulds which were then filled with plaster to create the work now on our walls.

CLOTH- Stitch and sew.

Or stick and bind.

MIXED MEDIA - A mixture of all materials.

Or even smelly jelly artworks in petri dishes (kindly donated by Lennox.ie)

Come and see all these pieces and more at our EVOLVED EHIBITION - last two days are Friday 27th and Saturday 28th from 12-5pm. If you have work to collect then this can be done on Monday 30th and Tuesday 31st from 12-5pm ONLY.

OUR EXHIBITION HAS EVOLVED
So much has been happening in the last few weeks that it's hard to fit it all in. Since our last blog we have had plaster workshops and cloth workshops, and this week's mixed media workshops will bring the workshops to a close.

The workshops may end this Sunday but from Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th the gallery will be open for your last chance to view the works created by our participating artists. Over 1,000 pieces of art have been made this summer, guided and inspired by Terry O'Farrell. These works now hang alongside Terry's work, in an exhibition curated by Ashleigh Downey that has changed and evolved weekly.

Here's what some of our participants and their parents had to say:

'Workshops like this, where children can express themselves, and all the artwork is individualistic, not carbon copies, is a thrill!! Please continue to have artists like Terry inspire children to be creative!!' – Parent

'My ten year old daughter … came for the plaster art shop and the time, patience and confidence building that Terry gave the children was exceptional. Their true artistry was encouraged. Thank you so much.' – Parent

'[The] Grandparents today were totally amazed at how beautiful the exhibition of children's work looked alongside Terry's and the respect each piece was given.' – Parent

'One of the richest and creatively supportive experiences I have had to date.' – Parent

'I like art because its fun and excitement to work. Thank you very much.' – Child

'We really loved the day as Artists'. – Child
'I like this because it is art. I love it'. – Child

'It was great fun. I got to make loads of cool stuff. I'd like if I could make everything you could make here. Thanks a lot'. – Child

The workshop and exhibition was featured in an inspired piece in the Irish Times today as well. Click here for the full article.

There are a limited number of spaces available on Saturday 21st and Sunday 22nd for the mixed media workshops - booking ahead is highly recommended. The Exhibition (which is in its final weekend of evolution), is free and everyone is welcome to come along and have a look. It's open this Saturday , Sunday and next Wednesday 25th to Saturday 28th from 12-5pm.

Summer in the City
If you're getting to the end of the summer and are at a bit of a loss of what to do, we've put together a few ideas that might get that imagination whirring again:

You could come to The Ark on Friday and Saturday…

This week we have plaster workshops. You can get your hands dirty mucking about in plaster to come up with a creation that will be reverse opposite of what you created. How does that work? Well you’ll have to come and see!

And then go see Bio Rhythm at the Science Gallery on Sunday...

Followed by a trip to the Leprechauan Musuem on Monday to find out the real story behind the little people...

And from there to the moon!

And lastly, for a bit of that summer feeling, click here to listen to Summertime.
